In response to the current novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, some of the Sunshine Coast’s best loved events and entertainment venues are offering a variety of online experiences this year.
So check out the ideas below, get comfy on your couch and get ready to experience the best of Sunshine Coast entertainment from your home.
Anywhere Festival Slumber Party
Friday 12th June 2020 at 7pm.
Cost: Donations over $5 (pay what you feel appropriate)
Presented by Glitter Martini and Anywhere Festival this live variety show will be streamed direct to you! Put on your best PJs, cosy up and enjoy a variety of stunning performances and side-splitting bedroom antics. Over 50 minutes you’ll experience the wildest slumber party of your adulthood! It’s sure to be a fun night in.

Best of all, the cost is up to you! With a minimum of just $5. You’ll be able to support the incredibly important arts industry, while sticking to a budget that suits you.

Horizon Festival online program
June 2020 (dates tbc)
The Sunshine Coast’s premier multi-arts festival will transition to an online format for 2020. This will allow the organisers to work with local artists and communities to deliver a reimagined, smaller program of online arts experiences and events.
Starting in June, will be a rolling program that responds to the ever-changing times, leading the way to a new virtual Horizon.

Another favourite on the Sunshine Coast event calendar is the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. While the event won’t be going ahead this year, you can catch the best breakthrough performers from Comedy Up Late 2019 via the YouTube link below.
The J Noosa
While they are unable to bring you shows right now, the team at The J Noosa, are posting a weekly ‘theatre snippet’ to educate you on the lingo, superstitions and strange little sayings of the industry. For example: Do you know what ‘The Ghost Light’ is?
